Why Acupuncture Is Your Ticket To A New You In 2020

Why acupuncture is your ticket to a new you in 2020

In the blink of an eye, Christmas is behind us. The trees, tinsel and trimmings that still adorn homes and streets are now echoes of what I hope were a peaceful and happy holiday season for you.

With eyes front, we now prepare ourselves to meet the challenges of a new year that ushers in the third decade of the century.

Like many people, you may well be thinking about the promises you’re going to make to yourself about how things will be even better in the next 12 months than they were in the baker’s dozen we’re about to put behind us.

Some of those promises will relate to practical and material things linked to your job or home. Others might be the kind of things we’ve all promised ourselves at various times in our life – to give up smoking, to lose weight, to get fit.

But how many of us make a promise to truly look after ourselves properly? And, if you did, how long is it before the tumult of life takes over and you give in to a madcap whirl of modern living where everything but you takes priority?

So as we edge closer to 2020, I’m challenging you to not only make that promise to yourself this year, but also keep it.

It’s so easy to either forget or sacrifice our own wellbeing as we dash around trying to please everyone but ourselves, so I’m calling on you to do one simple thing for yourself every single day of the year.

Whether it’s eating one healthy meal a day, simply taking 20 minutes to sit down and read a magazine, book a massage or a manicure, or just go for a walk, by making sure looking after Number One is part of your daily routine will have a positive impact on your physical health and emotional wellbeing.

We all know that habits – whether good or bad – are hard to break, so making your own happiness a priority will soon become a habit that is as automatic as getting up in the morning.

Acupuncture is an excellent way to give yourself a regular boost. As an holistic therapy, acupuncture has benefits that can help to keep you healthy and happy, often dealing with emotional and physical issues before they even become obvious to you.

As a monthly personal MOT, acupuncture isn’t just a relaxing and enjoyable experience, it also serves to keep your natural energy in balance, helping to maintain a healthy immune system and preparing you for the challenges that life will inevitably throw at you.

There are many misconceptions and myths around acupuncture, all of which are inaccurate and can serve to put people off. The simple fact is that contrary to these urban myths, acupuncture is not painful (in fact, the treatment is so relaxing and enjoyable that the majority of my patients fall asleep in their session).

On its own it’s a powerful way of maintaining good emotional and physical health – but when you combine it into a routine that also includes time every day to indulge your own needs, a healthy diet, some exercise and good sleep, it can be a secret weapon in feeling the best you can every day.

Acupuncture is great for treating many different issues, including:

  • Stress
  • Musculoskeletal issues such as backache, neck pain and soreness
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Digestive issues
  • Lethargy
  • Sleeplessness and insomnia
  • Fertility issues
  • Hay fever

At The Acupuncturists we also offer cosmetic acupuncture and massage, as well as practising ear acupuncture, which is needle-free) and can often be used alongside normal acupuncture to enhance its effect.

If you’d like to talk to us about how we can help you to be at your best every day during 2020, why not book in for an acupuncture session and see the difference it can make. And you can find out more about the treatments by getting in touch for an informal conversation.
