Archna Patel

MBAcC. Lic Ac. AFN. ACT.

‘I believe that no two people are the same. It is this fact that lies at the foundation of my treatments. Every one of my patients is treated as a unique individual, whose symptoms are an expression of an underlying imbalance. Each person’s physical, mental and emotional status is taken into account ensuring an integrated and holistic approach. In this way, my patients are encouraged to reach their full potential in life.’

Archna’s acupuncture treatments firmly encompass the two founding schools of thought of Chinese medicine – The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and The Five Elements. She studied acupuncture and graduated from the internationally acclaimed College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 2001. A special interest in women's health and fertility led her to attend postgraduate training courses in Acupuncture in Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Male and Female Fertility, Acupuncture Support for Natural & Assisted Conception, Paediatric Acupuncture and Chinese ‘Patent’ Herbs.

Her experience over the years has taught her that one of the most profound causes of illness or ‘dis-ease’ is stress, and helping her patients learn how to handle stress has become a major aspect of her treatments. Archna strongly believes in the mind/body connection and offers classes to help her patients understand how thoughts and emotions impact one’s health and she also teaches methods and tools to effectively deal with the stresses of modern life.

She has continually evolved her skills through training, attending numerous courses in the discipline, and by sharing her skills in various media and magazines. She has been a member of the British Acupuncture Council’s PR and Marketing committee.

Furthermore, her original training, in Western medical sciences, prior to her vocation in acupuncture, has enabled her to bridge the gap between the Western conventional medical practice and the Eastern holistic approach.

Archna is a member of the:

  • British Acupuncture Council (BAcC)
  • Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN) and
  • Acupuncture Child Birthing Team (ACT)
  • British Fertility Society (BFS)
